New Watercolour Series SPRING 2024

DRAWING & WATERCOLOUR PAINTING CLASSES: New series beginning TUESDAY, April 30, 2024, 9:30 am to 12:30 pm. $25/class includes materials; pay as you go. Continuing Tuesdays through May. First class is for beginners or those wanting a refresher; no experience required. Subsequent classes will focus on skill development and related project each week. Maximum 8 students; minimum registration of 4 students for each week’s class to proceed. Take Exit 11 from the TransCanada Highway, 20 km east of Baddeck. Exit 11 puts you on the Cabot Trail. Drive past the Lobster Galley Restaurant, past the Gaelic College and continue 10 minutes until you get to Goose Cove. At the hairpin turn, turn left onto Meadow Road. Follow the signs, and travel less than 1 km up the road – find the studio on the left. Property #1886 and Studio sign are on the mailbox stand by the road. Park by the side of the road. The Studio is the small barn-shaped building just behind the house. Easy to find.

WHEN 

Friday mornings, 9:30-12:30, April 28, May 5, 12, 19, 26, June 2, 9, 2023; a commitment to each week’s class is appreciated; however, pay only for the classes you attend.

WHAT

You will learn introductory to intermediate drawing and painting techniques. We will discuss supplies and drawing/painting surfaces. There will be exercises for the first hour and a painting project for the remainder of the class. The focus is on learning new skills and honing the skills you have, but we also have fun! And we practice quietening that inner critic. If you are more experienced, you may work on your own project with guidance. All skill levels welcome.

Cape Breton Landscapes: Small Watercolours Series

Each painting in the series of 24 watercolour landscapes is 5” x 5” mounted on 6” x 6” cradle board birch panel, ready to hang, and finished with several layers of varnish spray. Sample frames available - these are professional “floating frames” with no glass, but a frame is not required for a finished look. The paintings are $129 each, $165 each with frame. Most of these paintings are found at The Flying Kite Artisan Shop in Baddeck, Nova Scotia and at the Cape Breton Centre for Craft and Design Gallery in Sydney, Nova Scotia.

TAPESTRY WORKSHOP 2023
