Drawing, painting and weaving tapestries. Botany and botanical morphology and colours tie these artistic disciplines together in my new small studio in Kitchener, Ontario. Unlike in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, where I have lived for more than ten years, I do not have a public studio, at least for now. It’s been challenging to leave Cape Breton, a place and people I love deeply. However, it is time to renew and refocus. And I am excited to do so.
I am studying with a brilliant botanical illustrator/teacher in Sarasota, Florida, thus my “sabbatical” this year and extending into 2025. I plan to resume teaching drawing, watercolour and tapestry later in 2025.
